ebook webapp tightly targets one device – the iphone of course
This is an ebook web app for the iphone (only), which does a surprisingly good job for being a web-only app.

Their workaround for being a web app is a bit novel. It also seems they are able to design for known limits of the safari browser, like maxing a single page download to show up to 50 pages of text.
Since they are tightly targeting a single device, they are able to make a great interface that follows the interaction conventions of the iphone. They DO add a slightly odd new interaction – advancing pages or dismissing lightboxed dialogs by pressing anywhere. This takes some getting used to when you are used to having a ‘cancel’ button – or any defined action button for that matter – but is an interesting idea when designing for small screens.
